When I attempt to start VE (an .exe file) from the workstation, I get the

following error message (every time):

    • As unhelpful as this is - The error means that the attempt to connect

      through the database using ODBC failed. It's Microsoft's error message so I

      won't apologize

      So the problem is most likely in your ODBC DSN

      - If you press test connection in the odbc administrator does the connection

      work?

      - if it doesn't then getting that working should solve your problem

      - if it does then I would turn on odbc tracing to see the exact connect

      string the application is generating. The application can override vales in

      the DSN. I'd use these values in a test ODBC DSN to get them working
